BOWLING GREEN, Ohio & MIKKELI, Finland -- June 14, 2002 -- Senecio Software, Inc. and the Helsinki School of Economics' Mikkeli Business Campus announced a strategic agreement to cooperate on the development of an online evaluation system as part of the school's alumni assessment program. In addition, the two parties agree to cooperate in extending the system to the school's wireless network.
This agreement brings together two innovative leaders in their respective fields: Senecio Software has been one of the leading developers of computer-assisted survey technology; whereas the Helsinki School of Economics is Finland's top business school and one of Europe's leaders in international business education. Its Mikkeli Business Campus is particularly known for its innovative activities. In the coming year, additional assessment projects are planned for other areas of the business campus.
"We are pleased to establish this relationship with the Helsinki School of Economics, one of Europe's leading business schools. The Mikkeli Business Campus is a gateway to the expanding markets of Russia and the Baltic States," said Dr. Jerry Wicks, President of Senecio Software.
"The push into these emerging markets is very importance to us for a variety of reasons. Our multi-tier, web applications are designed to work anywhere on the globe and this alliance gives us a chance to test the system in a variety of environments. We will also work to further refine our wireless data gathering products, and we are especially happy to be doing this work in Finland, the undisputed world leader in wireless telecommunications. We are also working with the Mikkeli Business Campus in exploring promising new ventures with businesses in the region."
Dr. David Swanson, Dean of the degree programs at the Mikkeli Campus, added, "By partnering with Senecio, we have an opportunity to experiment with several data collection methodologies we have been wanting to deploy. This first project involving the evaluation of our alumni will give us a good reading on the overall effectiveness of these methods and will lay the groundwork for several of the wireless applications we have in mind. What we develop here can serve as a model for other institutions of higher education in the region."
